Orbiston Neighbourhood Centre, brings you the Orbiston Work Club beginning Wednesday 14th September. Geared towards helping the unemployed in Bellshill find employment and training. Orbiston Neighbourhood Centre is a dynamic community-based organisation, operating for the benefit of people living in the Orbiston and Bellshill area of North Lanarkshire. Our main service areas are childcare, elderly care, community café & food store, befriending, volunteering. The Centre receives over 1000 visitors per week through the services provided and the local groups and projects that also use the Centre, such as Credit Union, Jack & Jill Support Group for families with disabled children, Drama School, Parents & Toddlers group, Line dancing, Keep Fit classes, Yoga classes, Scouts, Irish Dance Class and Childminding group. We work in partnership with other voluntary and statutory organisations. |
| The centre opened in 1995 to provide a range of different services and initiatives within the local community. Over the past 15 years the Centre has been pulsing at the heart of Orbiston, providing a community focus and playing an important part in many people’s lives. By encouraging the involvement of our service users in their community we believe that the Orbiston Neighbourhood Centre is making a significant contribution to the development of local capacity. |
